Eric, I use a whitelist email filtering method where the default destination is a spambox and recognized addresses and tags go to relevant boxes. Could you do the same with your existing customer email addresses and this list members' addresses? It won't help with a valid email that is new, such as from a potentially new customer who has not joined the list, but would make it easy not to miss known email addresses.
