Eimac is a division of CPII (Communications and Power Industries,
Inc.). Richardson Electronics is one of the primary distributors of new
Eimac products. These tubes can last a lifetime in Amateur service if
treated with respect. I don't know about this particular tube, but
there is a considerable market in used power tetrodes on the web. You
can sometimes get a kW level power tetrode with half its service life
left for a couple of hundred $.

Last I heard the 3CX1500D7 (not an 8877) was only available
to hams directly from Eimac. This is a different animal than
the 8877.
