My shield was OK. The white tissue paper was a bit out of character, but the shield was protected. That was some scratch you show in your photo. At least it's hidden a bit!

That clearance you mention is close, but nothing contacting the shield.  :)

I'm stuck at the moment waiting for a few parts to come that weren't packed with the K3.

Someone missed clipping off several of the pins on the
relays on the VCO board, allowing them to contact the
shield, and this caused the VCO CAL to fail on several
bands ... but not ALL.  You might want to check your
board for clearance.
