Hello Guys, K3 Serial Number 78, located in Germany, is up and working.
I finished to assemble my K3 (ordered 04/30/07, shipped 11/15/07 and delivered 11/19/07) without any serious problems. The only thing you should consider... RTFM ! Even if a step seems to be not necessary or wrong... do each step exactly as described in the manual ! Especially the inventory is a really good recommendation and will avoid to use the wrong screws. Fortunately they sent me the Allen Wrenches... otherwise i would have been in trouble here in 'Metric-Land'... ;o) I resisted to post my pictures... we already had a UPS guy and you should already know how to assemble a K3 even if you are still waiting to get yours... Special thanks to Marina, AnnMarie, Lindsay, Christine and Ruben from Elecraft (or a subcontractor) for packing my box without missing any parts !!! Also special thanks to the engineering team for developing such a piece of hardware ! A personal note for all the 'impatient' customers: Engineers are always to late, because they always try to build something perfect, which they almost did !!!! The only thing to do now is connecting the rig to an antenna and test all the features, which will take at least a month.
