Of course you're gonna limit yourself to the same price range
as the K3 you had ordered in your shopping ..... a classic
"shoot yourself in the foot" move ... sad.
Regardless of the money you spend you still won't own the
unquestioned best.
I had an FT-1000D, an FT-990 and an IC-756 PRO II here
in the shack when I ordered mine, so I'm qualified to comment.
All three have been sold on eBay.
