It would be far better if Elecraft would divide the backlog into groups of 10 to 25 radios (they don't need to tell anyone how many in each group) and notify each customer into which "group" their order falls. The each week, they can post which group or groups are targeted for shipment in the next couple of weeks. For example, the shipping status might say: "during the week of 17 Dec kits in group 14 and 15 and assembled radios in group 13 are expected to ship. There will be limited shipments during the weeks of 24 Dec and 31 Dec. Normal shipping levels will resume the week of 6 Jan." This would provide better visibility for the customer who is waiting (im)patiently without releasing too much information. 73, ...
