Good Evening,
It was nice to hear you all tonight. Pete took time away from his guests to
join us for a moment on 40 meters. Thank you! QSB was strong on 40 meters but
there was a little of it on twenty as well. Starting earlier has its good and
bad points. Propagation is better but I lose Tom on 40 because he has a
standing dinner date with his wife. How can I blame him? She's a great lady!
Weather has been typically Oregonian; changes on the half hour. I got
another two inches of snow in separate storms interspersed with bright, sunny
skies. I am hoping the clear skies I have now will hold until it is fully
dark. Then I'll get outside with a warm pair of Sorels and look at the two
comets in the sky. Tonight Comet Tuttle is supposed to be directly in front of
M33. Only a few degrees away Comet Holmes is still very visible. Two naked
eye comets in the sky at once is a real treat.

Just got a phone call from one of our lost members: Carter, N3AO. First he
had to move, then he decided to go into the hospital for a visit, only now does
he get an antenna planted. One of these days he may get back on the net but he
is having far too much fun contesting. 95 QSOs during the Stew Perry event is
what I was told. Hi Kay!

Hopefully the above list has only a few errors (0?); if not send me the
details and I will fix the database. Now to find my Sorels and my binoculars.
If the sky is still clear I have some comets to find!

73 and Happy New Year to you all,
Kevin. KD5ONS (Net Control Operator 5th Class)
