The inclusion of the KX1 in this discussion is getting very close to saying that a small DSP unit should be created as an external option. There is just not room in the KX1 to add much of anything (unless the internal battery space is sacrificed. But then Lyle has created magic before, so he may be able to put one in if it has really tiny SMD technology.

A small DSP board should easily be feasible inside the K1.

I don't have a metro, but leather seats are really nice. :-)

I have both of those rigs and like them a lot but don't really think either are DSP-worthy, given how and where the rigs were designed to be used. The
bandwidth controls on them are perfectly matched to the rig's other
capabilities. Adding DSP to them would be sort of like buying 3rd party
leather seats for a Geo Metro.
