Thanks Wayne, But I am still exploring the more basic options for K3, last night I used the NR button "in battle" for the first time. 40m SSB at night. All transceivers have the button it seems but the effect (or ineffect) varies greatly. To my amazement, the noise level reduced - a couple S-units. There were no undesirable side affects, and the recovered audio sounded pleasingly natural in comparison to what I know of NR. The biggest treat was, press the button and it worked, no fussing with it to try to improve the effect - only to be disappointed. One simple button, every radio has it, but oh what a difference. Tonight we try the blanker or some other button to find out how it's really supposed to work. ;-) de wb8yqj [Elecraft] Corrected K3 MCU Firmware, rev. 1.66 (fixes ATU TUNE problem) wayne burdick n6kr at elecraft.com Wed Jan 30 16:37:44 EST 2008 Previous message: [Elecraft] K1 RF Board - Resistance Checks Messages sorted by: [ date ] [ thread ] [ subject ] [ author ] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you loaded K3 MCU revision 1.65, please load revision 1.66 instead, which fixes a problem with ATU TUNE that was reported by a few customers. Rev. 1.66 is now available on our web site. In version 1.65, tapping ATU TUN would incorrectly use the power level set in the new TUN PWR menu entry, and afterward would set the power knob to this TUN PWR value. The ATU TUNE power level is automatically controlled by firmware (5 W and 10 W are used, depending on the SWR). The TUN PWR menu entry only sets the power level for the regular TUNE switch. 73, Wayne N6KR _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [email protected] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
