I have just purchased a quantity of computers for my classroom use because of there very compact size, high performance and low cost - worth looking at and they come in many configurations. They were originally called Acer Power1000 and Power2000. They are now branded as Veriton. these come in many packages but the VM460 line is the ultra compact. Has all the builtin features - video and audio with many USB ports. They come in many configurations all dual core Intel or AMD fast processors, large HDD and built-in DVD writeable drive and Wi-Fi. Negatives - no expansion slots, or RS232 but with half a dozen USB 2 ports that can be handled. I don't have a report on soundcard performance a'la Ham Radio, but everything else works great. Can be bought in many configurations for prices from upper $300s to mid $800s with choice of XP or Vista for the O/S. _http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Description= veriton_ (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Description=veriton) for example.
