Lyle, Tnx for the info. Both pins measure 5V. I set up both lines with NPN's.
When I plug in the cable to any COM port I go into transmit mode. It seems I am getting 11V on pin #7 on any of the 4 Com ports on my PC. Do you know if I need to change the configuration of my COM ports so I don't get the 11V all the time?
