I guess that he ordered a few K3s to make a profit on them while Elecraft 
catches up. Some folks must be willing to pay a premium for not having to wait. 
The law of Supply and Demand is applied here, although, in my opinion, it's 
sure not, in the spirit of ham radio. I know I wouldn't do it, nor would I bid 
on it. It's the same thing as ticket scalping, even though that is illegal in 
some places. Free enterprise is just that, free to do whatever is legal. 

The listing on ebay mentions the reserve price at that of an assembled kit due 
to sales tax, shipping and "other" fees. $80 or so for shipping and other fees 
from Aptos, California to Carlsbad, California? Other "sealed Elecraft K3 
items" in future auctions are also mentioned. I won't be bidding on those 
either. I would hope that no one would bid on them but that won't happen.
