That, plus some hams are just obligate horse-traders. I know one such. He is constantly buying and selling and trading rigs, never staying with anything more than a few weeks. He has bought and sold the same model of a couple different low-end transceivers numerous times. I think he likes this aspect of the hobby more than actually operating! :-) To each his own.
