Most people can't remember everything they read in the manual (even if they read it in the first place) and this is probably more true of radio hams than computer users in general since most of us are getting to the age when it isn't so easy to remember stuff." The K3 does two things - it receives and it sends. If you hear the signal, it is working fine with the defaults supplied. Now, if you are trying to do something out of the ordinary, this is where the tweaks are useful, and experience helpful. It is simple, and it is complex.
