I do like the Yaesu FT-2000D. The big problem I have with recievers is local noise in the development. Once the power went out and I drained my deep cycle battery making CW contacts on my Ten-Tec Jupiter, it was awesome, but that doesn't happen too often. The yaesu handles that a lot better than my old ten-tec. I've enjoyed having two receivers too. I'm always listening on 10 meters now!
My signal reports on the section phone net are better when I run 200 watts. I have a lot to compensate for, a 14 foot 75 meter antenna! The K3 is coming along nicely. I'm to the point where I'm calibrating he reference oscillator. 73 de Joseph Durnal NE3R On Sun, Jun 22, 2008 at 10:39 AM, Kenneth Waites <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: >> I was waiting and waiting for the K3 and ended up buying a Yaesu >> FT-2000D. > > Weeaaaakkkk !
