I have recently begun experimenting with my K3's AFX feature. My understanding is that AFX is supposed to spread cw signals across a virtual listening space in front of the operator (distributed according to pitch?). My experience, listening with stereo headphones and with AFX on, is that all of the sound seems to come from one side and slightly to the rear. With AFX off I hear a balanced sound from the headphones that seems to be in the center of my head.
This is not what I expected.
