Good Evening,
Another wet week went by in Oregon. The last couple days did give me a
little time to work on the roof but it has been very wet and chilly otherwise.
Sam told me to build a fire so I got some wood and got it going. Got the chill
out of the air and alleviated some of the dampness. Now as we go into
beginning of the week the rains are to test my roof repairs. Hopefully I have
plugged the major leaks
so I won't be busy with a mop, bucket, and a shop vac!
Twenty meters was productive this week and I just read about forty meters
being open the last few evenings. There was also the first sunspot in a month!
The sunspot number skyrocketed to 11 but alas that spot is gone again. Would
it were so easy for Lady Macbeth. This may be a sign of things to come. I
hope you all have your rigs tuned up ready for the next solar maximum!
Now some news I forgot to mention in my last net report. We passed a
milestone last Sunday. QNI number 5000. John, W0JFR, is the lucky one. Now
where did I put that check? I know it is here somewhere ;) On the forty meter
net the great occurrence went un-noted. Oh well, the scribe needs to be
reprimanded for his lack of rigor. 578 individuals have contributed to the
total of 5014 check ins since the nets began on June 7th, 2003. Quite a run!
We still need two states for the coveted Elecraft WAS award. This one will be
special though. It will be an Elecraft rig in both directions! Thus if any of
you are able to check in from either South Dakota or Delaware with your
Elecraft rig please do so. Sure would be fun to post that award on the web
site! At that point I will go through the logs and start sending out QSL
cards. I would like my submission to the ARRL award committee to be for
Elecraft 2X CW WAS. Don't know if they'll give me that award but in my heart I
will know I did it :)

Please join us tomorrow evening.
