Is anyone else experiencing distortion when using the monitor facility on SSB ?
I experience quite severe distortion when using my Sony MD-7506 headphones, slight distortion with my Heil Pro Set and none with my Yaesu YH-77ST. In other words the wider the frequency response of the headphones, the worse the distortion. In fact it appears the distortion is a high frequency component as I can clean it up completely with audio filtering after the headphone or speaker output but it should not be there in the first place. It is there with several different microphones but it does not appear on the transmitted signal which is clean.
