Folks,
OK, I looked at the firmware chip that I received just today, and it is
level 2.04R instead of 2.04P.
I do not have confirmation, but from Larry's report, it may be that the
sidetone source is now fixed at U8-4. If so, it will solve a lot of
problems that users have, even though it may prove to be a minor
inconvenience for those who still have older K2s without the sidetone
source change.
I am going out on a limb here without confirming information, so be
gentle if I am later proven incorrect.

When I put the old IC back, the sidetone returns. My K2 is an older (1644)
rig and I don't have the 100 watt option or the the KIO2 option installed.
Does anyone have any ideas?
