FWIW, on K3 #1595 (ordered 7 May, Katiegram 27 August, arrived 5 September, on the air 6 September), I found the leads on the TCXO (standard 5 ppm version) to be too long as well, so I trimmed a bit (maybe 3/32" or so) off each one before installing the TCXO.
