Hi Merlin M0TRX
congrats and good luck
I built my K2 #5219 a couple of years ago at age 61 (I feel like 25 though!) I remember back in 1966 at age 21, building a Heathkit RA1 hambands only rx, I spent 30 hours, continuous, all night in my room at the YMCA, Portsmouth, building it and apart from a very minor error, it worked first time. A few days later, I smuggled it into the local MOD establishment, where I worked and thoroughly checked out the alignment with the help of Mort, G2JL (then G3JZV) I'm not particularly interested in going on the air much, prefer experimenting
and always hope to improve my cw, and like operating the K2 from car.
Building and operating my K2 has been by far my best experience in Amateur Radio.
thanks to Elecraft and the great people on this reflector.
