Apparently RadioShack no longer sells that little speaker. There is another lighter-weight alternative, but it requires 2 AAA cells, since it includes an amplifier circuit. This is a tiny no-name dual speaker designed for iPods which is sometimes available in the electronics section of drug stores. It sports an impudent integral 3.5 mm stereo plug which is easily dislodged, so it needs to be carefully protected inside a backpack. It works better with the KX1 if it's used with a short male-female 3.5 mm patch cord. The good news is that it costs about $10.
