I second that! I participated in the CQ WW SSB in teh single band single opp high power class. At the end of the weekend I had 1236 Q´s and 109 multipliers which I think is not so bad considering the fact that I was not able to use the amp the entire weekend and hardly got any cluster spots due to a bad packet connection. It was the first time I entered the single band single opp class and although I have done some contesting, I still have much to learn. You might have heard me as PI4COM.
The K3 didn´t let me down and I think it was a great partner in this weekends contest. That said, I think life could have been somewhat easier had I known how to set I up correctly. This was the first time I could really use my K3 (serial # 1849) in crowded band conditions so I´m still learning how to get the most out of its performance. A couple of months ago I read something about some sort of manual on how to set up your K3 for specific situations. Unfortunately I have not heard from it since. I to would really like to have some guide lines on how to set up the K3. 73, Maarten PD2R P.S. The only problems I had with the K3 was the VOX button and the SSB power. Regarding the VOX, if I had to cough, I regularly switched bands. The SSB power out put problem is a know problem and I have complete faith in the guys at Elecraft that they will get that fixed.
