Be sure the male plug (the one attaching to the K3) has fastening bolts and not
threaded studs.

I don't have a K3 yet but am trying to get some accessories together
beforehand. My computer has a (male) serial port. Do I need to get a cable like
this one:
"This is fully shielded, straight-through Serial cable. It has molded DB9
male to female connectors."
For the sound card connection - two shielded cables with 1/8" plugs on each
end?
