It all depends on your personal point of reference.

If you are ordering the kit, the QRP version will not take quite as long to build as the 100 watt version. Then when you get the KPA3 later, you will have to invest an extra 2 to 3 hours. There are very few pieces of the QRP K3 that must be removed to install the KPA100. Take a look at the KPA3 instructions to get an idea of how much removal work must be done - that is the only additional aggravation over installing the KPA3 initially. I would estimate that all the removal steps can be accomplished in 15 to 30 minutes depending on your skills with a screwdriver.

Yes, I initially ordered the 10 watt K3 and later upgraded it to the K3/100 - no trouble at all, just a bit of time.
