There is a 2.7 kHz filter and a 2.8 kHz filter. The KFL3A-2.8_2.7sw is an order entry item for people that wish to order a K3 with (just) the 2.8 kHz filter instead of the 2.7 kHz filter that normally comes with a K3.
It's a "swap" order item. If you order a K3, and then order a separate 2.8 kHz filter, you'd pay $125.95 for the 2.8 kHz filter and you'd have an extra 2.7 kHz left over. If instead you order the KFL3A-2.8_2.7sw at the time you order your K3, it'll come with just the 2.8 kHz filter, and the 2.8 kHz filter "upgrade" costs $95.95. They won't send the "stock" 2.7 kHz filter. But you have to arrange this "swap" before your K3 or KRX3 is shipped. I was planning to take a block of hours tomorrow to add the KRX3 to my K3/100. One of the things to do is to replace the 2.7-KHz filter with the 8-pole 2.8-KHz filter in the main receiver. I have one "KFL3A-2.8K" that I ordered a while ago for this purpose. Now I see from the Elecraft order page that there is the note: "Order KFL3A-2.8_2.7sw instead if replacing 2.7 kHz stock filter." Does anyone know what the different is between "KFL3A-2.8K" and "KFL3A-2.8_2.7sw"? Should I wait to get a "KFL3A-2.8_2.7sw" to swap out the old filter in the main receiver? 73, Jeff K8ND _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [email protected] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
