If your HP Pavilion has Windows Vista, the instructions are a little different. The drivers come from Microsoft Update (or already be installed, depending on the Service Pack level). See the KUSB manual for more detailed instructions. I bought the USB to Serial converter that Elecraft sells and I am using MS Vista. I followed the instructions that came with the package. I connected the USB side of the cord and got the message that a device had been detected and it was installing the device driver software, but very quickly I got a popup that offered 2 choices: "Install the disk which came with the device." (I didn't get a disk) or " I don't have the disk. Show me other options". Next I let the program search for the drivers on my PC but it failed. Eventually I get the message I posted the last time: Problem caused by PL-2303 USB-to-Serial Port Adapter This problem was caused by a compatibility issue between this version of Windows and PL-2303 USB-to-Serial Port Adapter. This product is usually distributed by the company that manufactured your device or computer. Note If you bought PL-2303 USB-to-Serial Port Adapter from a retailer and installed it yourself, you will need to contact its manufacturer. As far as Windows Update, I ran it before I tried this but I have it set to automatically download and install updates and there was nothing for me to download. Has anybody successfully obtained the drivers for Vista? I appreciate the help. Chris NU1O **************New year...new news. Be the first to know what is making headlines.
