I'd look at the schematic and see if I could figure out how it's supposed to be wired internally and then verify with an ohmmeter that the presumed dot is where you think it should be.

I notice that my RP5 is a red resistor pack part number 103C471T48. It does not have the Dot but a solid line do I match the solid line with the number one on the board.
