I am currently in second stage of assembly of the RF board. After soldering D23, D24, D25 and D26 I noticed that D25 is not flush with the board. It is sitting above the board by about 1/16th of an inch. I reheated the two solder joints and try push the diode flush to the board, but it seems as if it is being held up by some sort of burr on the lead. I have been reluctant to use the solder wick to remove and re-install the diode for fear that I might overheat and damage the diode. My questions are:
1. Is this 1/16" gap on D25 significant if the other diodes are flush? 2. Should I take the risk and remove and remount D25? or 3. Should I move forward with the construction and wait to see how the system performs before I attempt to re-mount D25. Fred, KC9QQ
