In case it might help anyone else who finds a similar symptom after a KRX3 install: I installed my sub rx about six weeks ago and revelled in the extra flexibility this gave me. About two weeks ago I noticed a couple of brief drops in sensitivity but put this down to a strong nearby signal. Two days ago the sensitivity dropped >20dB again - permanently, both rx, either antenna port, either antenna. Checked the menu settings, took everything out of line between the K3 and the antenna but the problem remained. Sent a 'help!' email to Gary but while waiting for the day to start in California I checked the tmp cables in the KRX3 installation and discovered that J7 on the KREF3 was not quite pushed fully home. It needed ~1.5mm more insertion but the fault allowed enough capacitive coupling between the inner of plug and socket to allow rx to continue below spec. A firm push seated the connector and the rig was back on form. I think the plug may have come slightly unseated when I made sure the tmp cable routing was correct as the final step before closing up the K3 again.
BTW the subject line fits into the switch on banner perfectly!
