*If* the need is for a second serial port (that's not clear from the thread), CommFront (www.commfront.com) makes a nice single USB to two RS232 port dongle that works FB for me. It's supposed to work with all the currently popular OS's out there today including Linux, Windows and Macs.
I've used it with 32 bit Xp and 64 bit Vista.
