I use an EdgePort with 2 serial ports and can testify to their quality. Bought this years ago when the cheap versions didn't work very well (at least that was my experience). In contrast, the EdgePort worked right from the start, and the EdgePort people provided great support when I wanted to change the configuration. This is the expensive Rolls Royce of serial ports, and these days the cheap ones seem to work fine. But if the EdgePorts can be had cheaply on ebay I wouldn't hesitate to choose the same brand today.
