I wonder if Elecraft has ever considered doing an OEM deal with another amp maker? SPE, makers of the Expert 1K-FA might be a good candidate. Some packaging re-design to match the K2/K3, together with software changes for integrating the amp tightly with the Elecraft radios, could satisfy many of us whilst avoiding much more up-front development cost, or the delays and costs associated with approvals from the various regulatory authorities. I run all Elecraft radios, with the exception of an IC7000 for mobile, so I make this suggestion as a big fan of the company. I would not wish to see product or service standards compromised, but when it comes to these long-awaited amps, maybe it's time for a different approach, or a clear statement from Elecraft that the company does not intend to be in the amp business for the foreseeable future.
