It's a commonly known problem for NiZn ferrites. Whether a mag mount antenna yields sufficient field to cause the problem is a different question.
Jack K8ZOA --------------------- Exactly Jack. You know that when working on equipment it's essential to be able to tell what's important from what's not. Building, fixing and just tinkering with gear, that's probably one of the most difficult lesson most Hams have to learn, whether it's deciding how many digits on a DMM are important or what tools to use. I wouldn't want anyone with an Elecraft rig to worry about using a magnetized screwdriver or a small magnet on a wand to make working on it easier. The real danger is leaving loose hardware floating around inside the rig. I don't know NiZn ferrites particularly, but I know you can shatter a common ferrite or powdered iron core with a magnet. But it's not a magnet a human can pick up or move about very easily.
