Not to be outdone.... Around 1967 or 1968, I was tuning around on 15m and heard my "buddy" about 4 miles away testing. He was unusually weak, so I gave him a call to let him know that something was wrong.
Turns out that he was using his Galaxy V MK II via a very short run of RG8 to his Heath Cantenna sitting on the floor in his shack. Weak, but Q5...and on SSB too. Guess I've just always loved to listen for the weak ones.
