Granted, Bill, it's more complicated with the KRX3 installed. It might involve an extra 10 minutes of work to remove/replace the KRX3 RF module. (I do it in less than five, about 1 min to get it out and the rest putting it back, but I've done it dozens of times.)
It's a gamble. One might save a few minutes taking the shortcut, unless a simple mistake is made. Then it'll take a lot longer to put things right again. To each his own. The Elecraft procedures focus on the *safest* way for everyone to proceed. The expert solder jockeys can get away with shortcuts - usually :-) Ron AC7AC -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Bill W4ZV Sent: Saturday, August 01, 2009 4:22 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Elecraft] PL1 Error on 10M Ron D'Eau Claire wrote: > > It seems a poor choice to try installing that resistor with the Syn board > in > place when it's "hammer simple" to pull the board and work on it properly. > Not if you have a KRX3 installed! 73, Bill ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
