Seems to me that band edge beeps would be fairly easy to implement. The K3 will not transmit out of band so it knows where band edges are already, just add a beep when you cross the edge and a software switch to turn the feature off, if you don't want it. User programmable beeps could also be implemented using the K3 utility.
