That's must be a system-specific issue. I use a USB/RS232 adapter without any problems at all with either a Toshiba Satellite or Compaq notebook computer.
Elecraft even offers a USB/RS232 adapter for this purpose. Ron AC7AC -----Original Message----- Do not use a usb/serial adaptor with K3 Utility. I still get an occasional failure of FPF or DSP1 with RS232 serial cable but a repeat download always captures the file.
