Couple of points Steve... (1) It's always worth keeping an eye out for multi-RS232 cards, I managed to find a 6 port serial card a couple of years ago which was very cheap, it gives me 8 real serial ports on my desktop PC. Real RS232 ports "just work", USB/serial adapters work most of the time!
(2) Programs like Ham Radio Deluxe key the radio via serial command, so you only need a single serial cable (plus audio cables). Needs nothing more than you can find in high street shops. 73 Dave, G4AON K3/100 #80 --------------------- Thanks, gang, for the help. My good friend, W0NTA, set me straight. For some reason I thought I could key the rig using audio like with PSK31, duh. Anyway, Dick, had an extra DSB9 interface cable that he was willing to lend me. Now I need another USB Serial Cable. My computer doesn't have a serial port, boo! Anyway, it's a great group. One can always get help, fast, on the Elecraft reflector.
