Couple of points Steve...
(1) It's always worth keeping an eye out for multi-RS232 cards, I
managed to find a 6 port serial card a couple of years ago which was
very cheap, it gives me 8 real serial ports on my desktop PC. Real
RS232 ports "just work", USB/serial adapters work most of the time!

(2) Programs like Ham Radio Deluxe key the radio via serial command, so
you only need a single serial cable (plus audio cables). Needs nothing
more than you can find in high street shops.

Thanks, gang, for the help. My good friend, W0NTA, set me straight. For
some reason I thought I could key the rig using audio like with PSK31, duh.
Anyway, Dick, had an extra DSB9 interface cable that he was willing to lend
me. Now I need another USB Serial Cable. My computer doesn't have a serial
port, boo! Anyway, it's a great group. One can always get help, fast, on
the Elecraft reflector. Best 73, Steve
