My receive antenna for the 2nd receiver is a floor to ceiling wire I have stuck to an indoor wall corner and tuned for the band of operation with a small MFJ tuner.
Many times it pulls in signals better than my main outside long wire.Those times when it isn't better but still receives the station, the additive result is always better than one receiver alone. I would never not want Diversity enabled unless the 2nd antenna just doesn't hear the station. For those few times I just tap SUB and go with the main receiver. 99% CW here.
