This one was asked before some time ago, by me, and was answered if I recall
correctly by Lyle. Basically it just isn't as simple as it might seem to
connect the output of the monitor to the decoder, which is designed to take
input from the DSP not the sidetone monitor.

The K3 can display your code from the paddle because the paddle provides dot
and dash closures and the speed is set by a control, making it a simple
lookup. From a straight key it would have to figure out your speed before it
could even try to determine what you were sending.
