This is a little off topic as it is not something that might be of great interest to some owners of Elecraft equipment unless they are into software as I am. This reflector seems to be pretty knowledgeable and much more technical than most, so I am posting this to the reflector as there might be a few others here that would find it of interest.
Recently I have started learning how to program PIC controllers, partly because I am interested and curious about how it is done and partly because I would like to start building some of my own software controlled radio electronics. I am wondering what language Elecraft uses for programming their radios and what software package they use. I am leaning towards using C in my projects using the Microchip compilers, but I have also looked into the Swordfish basic compiler and the mickoBasic Pro compiler as I know Visual Basic.net very well. I would also be interested in knowing if there are others on the list that have done some PIC programming and what language and software they use or would recommend.
