Joe, No - this is on CW with dual PB *NOT* active. I think it behaves the same way on SSB too.
It acts as if the knob is slipping, but it's not. Sometimes I can turn, turn, turn and nothing happens - VFO B display shows VFO B frequency, and then I can pause, turn it again, and the VFO B display shows the FC digits and the bandwidth changes. Very strange. Sometimes, it may start adjusting properly, and then I can turn, turn, turn, and nothing happens. Typically, I don't mess with this control so it has not been a bother, but since I have gotten my 43' vertical working on 160 with AD5X's matching system (recent 2-part article in QST) I've been listening more intently and have been noticing this quirk more. W5OV P.S. Logged TX4T and JA7NI this morning for two new countries on top band for me. Yes, I'm a top-band novice, although I have things like 3Y5X confirmed on 160 - go figure. -----Original Message----- From: Joe Planisky [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, February 10, 2010 8:29 AM To: Bob Naumann Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Elecraft] Shift control quirk? Hi Bob, The shift control doesn't do anything when the DUAL PB filter is on. (DUAL PB is available in CW, AFSK-A, and FSK-D modes.) If it's happening when DUAL PB is not on, then I don't think it's normal. 73 -- Joe KB8AP On Feb 10, 2010, at 5:26 AM, Bob Naumann wrote: > I have noticed that my shift control does not always work.
