Ok, tnx gentlemen for the info. Well then I'm completely out of things to troubleshoot or find wrong. It's 100% as far as I can tell so I guess it's all buttoned up and time to just go QRV.
I did order the NB module yesterday, tho, as the rig is basically unusable at night now due to the line noise. I believe that's the last thing I really need to add to the rig. I really want to try portable now so may end up with a buddipole or buddistick to try that next (a T1 tuner is also on the way along with the NB module). And off to practice my sending as well....
