Not sure if that helps with the "interesting" part, but certainly  
helps you find English broadcasts!

My favorite stations have always been Radio Australia and Radio New  
Zealand. They come pounding into Texas early mornings on the 31m band.  
Haven't done much SWBC DXing in recent years but found RA and RNZ  
while testing out the K3's AM synch detection and ended up staying up  
until dawn listening to them, feeling nostalgic about the old days  
when I used to do the same thing with a DX-160...
