I replaced the K3 DSP board yesterday. So far, I am delighted with the new noise level. I have always been a bit disappointed in the old noise level/quality preferring the K2 receiver in the noise department.
The replacement DSP card came with no instructions. if you replace yours, I suggest that you download the "KRX3 Installation manual" . The first 15 or so pages will get you where you need to be. I also added the KXV3A board to my K3 just in case I can't live without the P3 when it arrives. :) I took a few pictures of the operation available here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ak5x/ You are welcome to look at all of the photographs but the first ten shots deal with the replacement including a short video of the test after installation. Now, off to the mail with the old DSP card.
