I dunno, I used to make lots of contacts with my trusty Knight Kit Star Roamer. That thing was a real joke of a receiver. The entire novice band was about 1/8 inch wide on the dial. You had to tune reeeeeely carefully. The selectivity was broad as a barn door, which was actually a good thing because the receiver never came back to the same frequency after a transmission so you had to tune around to find the station you were working.
