I've used this combination and have been very happy with it. Everything fits in the buddipole carrying case making a nice "grab and go" HF station. I'd recommend getting an antenna analyzer to use with the buddipole, makes setting it up a lot easier. Alternately you could make a card with all the settings for coil taps and whip extension and use that, but I found that the settings are somewhat dependent on ground conditions and any nearby objects. I keep an MFJ-259B with the buddipole just to make life easier. Other than that, get on the air. Have fun. Best way to get good at CW is to use it often.
