Before I retired I used dozens of Lantronix ETS terminal servers to control network devices in a nationwide network. Bulletproof units. We were able to make serial ports on remote devices look like they were local. Actually we were also able to modem into one serial port and out another. Great flexibility. Don't know how LP bridge would play with one. Unfortunately they are devilishly expensive when new and the used ones can command a pretty price as well. Wish I had a couple.
