Paul, The KAT100 is designed to be installed in the EC2 enclosure. It has the plugs to connect to the KPA100 internal cables (except for the speaker). The external cabling is also provided with the KPA100 and KAT100 kits, just make up the cable shown in the KAT100 manual. Your base K2 will need the KIO2 to provide the path for the required signals. There are alternatives to the KIO2 that can be homebrewed, but they do not provide a connection for the computer. The computer connection capability in the KPA100 is not used if it is mounted external to the base K2.
